Big Stitchwort, Stellaria alsine in meadow at community garden (clay soil, Herts/London borders). Pink family. Lesser Stitchwort is more abundant but this smaller-flowered plant grows alongside it and can be distinguished by the sepals, the more separated bifid petals. #WildFlowerHour #Caryophyllaceae #botany

Corn cockle, in the pink family, #Caryophyllaceae. Poisonous. I have never seen it in ye actual Englishe countyside, where it is rare. But it's a common inclusion in wild flower seed mixes grown in parks and gardens. This one was still flowering in #CaledonianPark Islington in November.
