And here is Rep. Ro Khanna advocating for the PEACE Act, which would change the federal standard for the use of force by federal officers. . #CASenRaceEmails

Email from Adam Schiff just hit my inbox less than an hour ago. Appreciated this ask from him raising funds for ➡️ “NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, Campaign Zero, and The Bail Project — organizations that are seeking justice and addressing the systemic injustices within our society in pursuit of racial justice and defense of Black lives.”

If you are looking for leadership in your email inboxes from California Senate candidates on an evening like this - it’s Rep. Barbara Lee. She is speaking for lot of us.

During moments like this - email communication tells us something about how someone is going to step up (or look for others). Rep. Lee leaves no doubt. #CASenRaceEmails

Lastly, here is Adam Schiff's email. Good amount of content but really looks like an email from a national politician just asking people to give $ to a national org w/o a strong theory of change on how this action will help the impacted communities.

As a former LA guy - I appreciate the reference to streets like Garfield, Garvey - yet the email still feels it lacks an emotional punch or analysis on how Dem Leaders could lot more.

And here is Katie Porter's email. I respect this somewhat because there is no ask for money. But, it still feels somewhat lacking as someone who is struggling how to communicate and connect with people who need leadership post. I am going to go alphabetically here and start with Rep. Khanna. He went with a straight "list-building" tactic - generic petition with no real theory of change.

This kind of list building petition campaigns from a Democratic MoC feels weak - given Dems didn't make an all out effort to pass AWB or universal background check when they had the chance last year. Going to do Lee next. #CASenRaceEmails (2/)
