Greg Smith's #CatalogueRaisonné of #ThomasGirtin (1775-1802) is breathtaking. In a short life Girtin packed in much invention and innovation - from The White House at Chelsea to soaring architectural exteriors with light itself as the subject.
Here's a wash drawing with me attributed to #JMWTurner but which, possibly (based on paper type, size and technique) could be a Turner/Girtin 'co-production' of c.1794. If it isn't it doesn't matter: it cost me a measly £2.
