Today, I’m sharing my 1954 #Bowman Roy Campanella. #Campy was already an established #negroleagues #allstar #catcher when the #brooklyn #dodgers signed him in 1948. He continued his stellar play, culminating in the Dodgers’ 1955 #worldchampionship. Sadly, his career was cut short in 1958 when his car flipped on an icy road, breaking his neck and leaving him paralyzed. The #baseballcard is badly miscut, diminishing its value. #baseball #history #SportsHistory

Got my phone back but the moment was lost. Also, I had a bunch of photos sent to me privately while the cat was hoarding my phone. My two grandsons finally met (long story) and went to a ball game together.
I've seen more pictures at a ball came than any other time in my life. I'm just looking for the kids.
I don't know anything about Sports. My daughter took them to a ball game. I've never seen one. I can't catch either.

Bit late in the day here in Oz but just managing to sneak in Day 14 of the #ArtAdventCalendar!

I love sports photography because of shots like this. It is a moment in time captured forever. I think this shot is more powerful than a video of the same play would be.

The poem I’ve chose is related. It’s called “Dragons in the Outfield” and was written based on my experience as a softball mum, a sports coach and an elite athlete.

A's still have Sean Murphy ... for now. He's way better than Contreras (he's only played in two actual full seasons is excellent on defense & will end up being a 20hr a yr guy who also has speed (for a catcher) & #hits are doubles! Maybe until the #mlbtradedeadline . I'm happy they're asking for the return they deserve for Murph.
