Blog | Putting the Taxonomist in the Driver’s Seat
In this post Sarah Downs explores our software and its ability to bootstrap enterprise taxonomies for autocategorization.
When it comes to autocategorization, Graphite Knowledge Studio puts the taxonomist in the driving seat, allowing quick annotation of enterprise content with the concepts within your taxonomies or ontologies.

🌍 Our perception of reality: a mix of sensory inputs and past experiences. 🧠 Imagination fuels creativity, but challenges staying present. 🎨💡 Brain's categorization shapes social reality. In an age when we're all just entries in some algorithmic spreadsheet somewhere, be a platypus and mess up the categories.

Look, this one's not exactly fun per say, but:
Watermelons, cucumbers, oranges, and tomatoes are all botanical berries. Strawberries, blackberries, and raspberries are not. Peanuts, walnuts, and almonds aren't nuts.

One of Matt Mullenweg’s announcements at the 2022 State of the Word was the addition of new taxonomies for the theme and plugin directories that will help users more quickly ascertain the purpose of the extensions they are considering.

I have a prediction about this finding, though: I suspect it is a result of training on #static images to just do #categorization.
Corollary prediction: within the next few years we'll see a network trained on #3D #motor #control tasks (more like what humans actually do) and it will show more human-like shape biases.

Are you working on #bilingual #speech #categorization? Are you struggling with tasks that are not gradient? We have a theoretical/methodological paper discussing these issues.

Since most of my contacts on #mastodon are different from the ones I had on other socials (by the way: nice to meet you all!), here are some #highlights about my research that could be of interest:
H1: in the context of #KR & #Reasoning I have worked on cognitively-inspired models of #categorization integrating prototypes, exemplars and theory-theory views by using "Heterotegeneous Proxytypes Hypothesis". Such framework has led to the development of the DUAL-PECCS system https://www.tandfonline.com/doi/abs/10.1080/0952813X.2016.1198934?journalCode=teta20
