I have been a fan of Dick #Cavett since my college days, if not before. I love watching his old shows. I recently discovered that my cable provider carries the #Decades #television channel, which broadcasts an episode each weeknight. I thought that well worth a #blog post.

Here's a very niche question:

Seeking a #Local with knowledge of #History / #Genealogy of the #Kirkcudbright area, which I believe was formerly known as #Kirkcudbrightshire

Particularly, I am interested in the prevalence of the name #Cavet / #Cavett (or alternate spellings) in the area during the late 17thC. I am trying to decide whether a hunch based upon limited data warrants full (and time-consuming) research. If anyone cares to chat, I'd much appreciate it.
