Before "Straight Outta Compton (2015)" there was "CB4 (1993)", a mockumentary of hip-hop and rap with some up and coming names in acting and comedy mixed in with cameos from the big names in rap and hip-hop of the era. (And the obligatory anti-rap white conservative politican played by Phil Hartman.) It is still very enjoyable.

Terrific, funny cast. And some badass beats. But much like the culture it parodies, is more flash than substance. It has a story, sure, but it's not exactly what I would describe as tight. But it's there, and given the nature of the film it's more than enough to hang a parody of gangster rap culture on.

Fun stuff.
