First time reading a book on this topic. I don't know if the author's view of the war as having a prominently religious nature is a common perspective on the topic. But it's certainly an interesting view to take.

The Philippines - especially Metropolitan Manila region - is currently experiencing the worst Covid surge since the pandemic began. No shutdowns, but movements to and from the region is restricted.

Indoor dining is suspended for two weeks, but outdoor (al fresco) dining is allowed. So here I am, reading books outside the airconditioned café, and exposed to the notorious Manila heat.

Though as of posting, it's cloudy and slightly cooler now.

I just claimed my 2021 CBTL planner (they call it Giving Journal). It's undated, with 5 spreads per month. So it's a lot more flexible, especially for uncertain times.

I haven't inspected Starbucks' planner yet, but in my experience CBTL's is more suited for fountain pens.

Nearly all of my usual coffee shop places have already reopened, as more restrictions are being loosened and lifted. This place is excellent for abundance of natural light, though my mobile internet gets a bit more spotty especially in the afternoon.

Nonetheless, I love reading in here because the natural light is just more refreshing.

Working on a pretty big personal project which hopefully will be a solid start for future career ventures.

Of course it's a secret for now lol. But I like how it combines both my love for history and my tech knowledge, so I'm pretty excited with doing this.

I've also been reading this book for a couple of days now: The Long Shadow (David Reynolds) is a survey of the legacies of the First World War, from the Treaty of Versailles up to the contemporary period. The book focuses mostly on Britain.
