Forty years ago I started my first electronics engineer job and remembering starting at #CCL in #Cambridge has me all choked up.

An amazing place from day one. Began being shown around by a very attractive young lady who would later be my wife (now ex 🤷‍♂️), meeting all these nice smart people and quirky characters from the mysterious odd job man to the stiff MD.

It was my dream job and the start of ten amazing years in all aspects of my life.

I'm so lucky to have arrived there at that time.

So, the #ECS capo at today's #Sounders game told a story about #CCL, and Nico #Lodeiro, and his son Leandro that wasn't quite right that I want to set straight. 1/

@Elizafox Yeah, #SBCL & #CCL (#CommonLisp implementations) were what I was thinking of when writing that.

SBCL has its FASL for modular loading.

The various #Smalltalk also have similar things iirc.

Come to think of it, #Guile #Scheme has something fairly similar too, depending on if you count bytecode compilation (I would).

Yes, and I can't wait to watch them get promoted and do a dream run through the #CanChamp and #CCL.

Ok, that's probably a more far-fetched fever dream, but I can definitely see the team yo-yo between two divisions at some point.

Also, it will be a new entity. While the local youth organization is supportive and will be a good feeder, they aren't directly involved.

Lots happening, and it'd be great to have a supporters group ready to go for the announcement.

I've been volunteering with Citizens' Climate Lobby for the last four years. We are a grassroots network working to solve climate change by changing public policy. There are also various action teams within CCL. I'm attaching a postcard graphic for one of these that's focused on Earth-based spirituality. But there are many others — I've been particularly impressed by CCL's engagement with conservative folk. All hands on deck. We all liveon Earth.
