@jeff @xdej @SarraceniaWilds @rysiek I live in the San Gabriel Valley and I don’t want to see posts that originate in #SGV I want to see posts about the #San #Gabriel #Valley or #Pasadena or whatever. But getting everything geo located sounds like a #CCPA / #CPRA nightmare. So do you introduce tags outside of hash tags? I agree hashtags are a hack, but everything else seems worse. See #sangabrielvalley hash tags here in this post as to how bad it can get.

Just now remembered that the #california #legislature couldn’t get things together to figure out how to handle employee/employer #workerprivacy exemptions for #CCPA last year, so now employees can exercise #ccpa #privacy rights to the fullest extent as a consumer against their employer — and yet somehow the sky hasn’t fallen yet.

I was definitely told the sky would be falling by now. 🤷‍♂️

Doing a #CCPA "right to access" data request at data broker Equifax.

They respond by sending me a "text file with very long lines" that has a .png (image!) file extension. This means most people won't be able to open it; Firefox surely says the file is corrupted.

Happens to everybody, right, when programming text downloads that they accidentally give them .png extensions, and QA doesn't catch it???!?

Got a lengthy form letter from the office of the California State Attorney General today responding to my complaint, letting me know my rights under CCPA, and that my complaint has been passed on to Reddit. It sounds like they have 45 days to respond.
