I don't know what's more concerning - the fact that a political party wants a sitting PM to intervene in the decision to move Paul Bernardo to a medium-security facility, effectively shattering the separation of state and the justice system - or the fact that the media is okay with that.

Bernardo is labelled a dangerous offender - he is going die in prison. He will never be released.

What do we call it when the state directly influences the courts and prison systems? Anyone?
