@uanews Aha, so they say “could you please step out of the way so we can take over your country because we can not do this as long as you resist us”. In other words, #Russia can never win this war but they can not say this because then Russia falls apart and #Putin and all of his gang await the same faith as #Ceausescu.

Today in Labor History December 22, 1989: Ion Iliescu overthrew Nicolae Ceaușescu, the Communist dictator of Romania, after days of bloody protests. Ceausescu and his wife were tried and convicted of genocide against the Romania people, and executed on Christmas Day, 1989.

@Rumpelstiltskin there are so many wonders from that part of the world. I'm especially interested in #Romanian film, because that's the region I focused on for my undergrad history thesis a long time ago. Glad to see that Romanian directors and film are so honored today, because they weren't when I was a kid: #Ceausescu kept a lid on everything.
