Sometimes you hear or read something and the words don't really mean much to you at the time. Then at an unexpected future moment, you'll encounter those same words and it will hit you right in the soul. I was listening to the band Hoobastank for the first time in ages and heard the lyrics once again:

"I'm not the next of them. I am the first of me."

It hit me hard when I heard those words last night. I must've really needed it.
