I was playing on the wrong side, because I'm left-handed, and couldn't raise the levers when I needed to. I've been learning, and play on the right side now! Apparently it is impossible to get a CD of Robin Williamson's glorious "Songs of Love and Parting" album. I have the vinyl, but not a turntable (don't ask). It isn't streaming anywhere. There is a YouTube some soul has posted, so many thanks for that. But why is there no CD on the market, and no streaming? Prelude No. 1 in C Major, BWV 846, by J.S. Bach is a simple piece for beginners. I have always loved it.

Amy Turk, playing it in the video, is a young British musician I follow. She is highly creative in her pursuit to push the harp repertoire into non-traditional spaces for music.

I'm beginning to teach myself the prelude on my Celtic harp. I found the music online yesterday and practiced the first few bars this morning. 1/2

I had a lovely harp practice today. I'm not sure how it happened but I felt a confidence in what I was trying out which was lovely. I began with improv before practicing my pieces.
So far, as long as it's covered, Starry Night and StarStruck, aka the Starry Duo, are leaving it alone. This is progress.

One of the CD's that I sometimes listen to is Beltaine by Jennifer van der Harten.
And already several times, I have wondered about the speed at which she plays the harp in some tracks.
Especially this one, 'The humours of whiskey', is extremely fast. I do not think I could easily do that...
