The Gellidywyll Stone has travelled around a bit. It was allegedly carved in the parish of Maenclochog in 1743, moved to Gellidywyll mansion as a headstone for the squire’s horse in 1786 until being moved to its current resting place in Cenarth church yard in 1896. It’s inscribed ‘CVRCAGN - FILI ANDAGELI’. Meaning Curcagnus, son of Andagelli. #History #StandingStoneSunday #Cenarth #Ceredigion #Cymru #Wales #GellidywyllStone #Maenclochog #Pembrokeshire
