The Gellidywyll Stone has travelled around a bit. It was allegedly carved in the parish of Maenclochog in 1743, moved to Gellidywyll mansion as a headstone for the squire’s horse in 1786 until being moved to its current resting place in Cenarth church yard in 1896. It’s inscribed ‘CVRCAGN - FILI ANDAGELI’. Meaning Curcagnus, son of Andagelli.

Another leg of the Teifi Valley Trail route checked from Newcastle Emlyn to Cenarth. Following the old single carriage tracks alongside Gelli Gatti Manor House, used before the ‘new’ road was built.
