Behind the welcome increase in cycling to work there is a stark gender divide which hasn't changed much over the last two decades. There are many reasons why this is the case but I have no doubt that the quality of the infrastructure is a significant one.

The trend in car transport continues upwards for almost all commuter types with a notable exception for primary school children where we are seeing the beginnings of a downward trend. (A slight decrease for college students can be explained by an increase in those students working from home)

Annoyingly, the population of Irish cities only appears in the final results a year after the census and not in the preliminary results, so it’s been a long wait. I’m a bit of a nerd for the urban populations.
