The vast majority of #shareholders were happy with his pay deal, demonstrating, that the world of #financialservices operates at one remove from the rest of the country.

Why is Covid still allowed to be touted as an excuse for understaffing? It has been 3 years!

#BritishGas just 5 months ago announced profits of £72M and #Centrica, the parent company, made a record £3.3B in profits.

Bloody capitalists.

In today's #TotallyUnsurprisingNews, #Centrica boss & owner of #BritishGas receives an extra £1.4m #bonus on top of his £780K #salary and £2.3m annual share bonus--obviously for all his great contributions & hard work.

Looks like #Centrica (owner of #BritishGass) will confirm massively increased profits from last year... given these stem from the rise in wholesale price(s) not anything Centrica has actually done (other than control gas supply), this should be the rightful target for #windfalltaxes... these are essentially monopoly 'super profits'!

However, I won't be holding my breath! #RishiSunakPM is in their pocket!

#Centrica & UK Govt. have failed to agree terms for continued operation of the (partly re-opened) Rough gas storage facility, with the Govt. claiming Centrica (whose record profits have recently been in the news) were 'too greedy", while the firm says the Govt. has walked away because once gas prices & weather eased there was no need for storage right now..

The 'horror' expressed by #GrantShapps & the CEO of #Centrica, that people operating on their behalf are breaking into homes to install #prepaymeters is just yet more declaratory politics...

Of course they knew this was happening, but no doubt it was so masked in business gobbledygook that they were able to practice plausible deniability until a reporter (from the Times) went undercover & joined a crew doing the work...

There is no defence foe their claimed 'ignorance' of what was being done!

I don't know how much #BritishGas and its parent company #Centrica spend on their PR/Advertising to polish their brand image, but however much it is, it has been wasted by its association with debt collection agencies that appear to have taken great delight in forcibly installing pre-payment meters.

Unsurprisingly its shares have also risen by over 25% during 2022....
