On the bright side : people are working on it.
I saw very interesting talks that dealt with that matter, by Arianna Becerril and Nokuthula Mchunu, at the recent #cernnasa #OpenScience summit.
The slides for all the speakers of this summit are here : https://zenodo.org/communities/cern-nasa-open-science-summit-july-2023/

To solve the above issue and other ones like the key issue of the needed assessment changes, the help of #metascience scientists would be valuable. Fostering #metascience coordination on the #openscience field could thus help.

Foster the coordination of international efforts on monitoring the progress made worldwide in science opening. An international monitor would allow to fuel policies with actual data that show where the main efforts have to be brought to. However, the issue of what is relevant to monitor is probably even harder than how to monitor.
Indeed a wonderful week : I learned a lot and met a whole bunch of really nice people ! Great thanks to all !
I really like your takeaways.
To answer your question, I can get some inspiration from the recent G7 communique : https://www8.cao.go.jp/cstp/english/others/2023/g7_2023_en.html
This will take two more posts about what we could do :π§΅.
Last session of #cernnasa open science summit starts off like disco π πΊ
What equity means is really a discussion to be had. Yes, let's have this discussion going forward! #cernnasa
We need equitable partnerships, says Nokuthula Mchunu, when asked what can be done to really support researchers and open science in Africa.
#cernnasa
Nokuthula Mchunu speaks about the Science Granting Council Initiative, that will establish services in 17 African countries, also aspiring to support open science policies and practice from the beginning.

As the #cernnasa #nasacern summit on #OpenScience is nearing to the end, it is worth reminding that all the slides of the talks are neatly opened in a #zenodo community : https://zenodo.org/communities/cern-nasa-open-science-summit-july-2023

In her talk at #cernnasa , MarΓa Alejandra Tejada also highlights the ministry's work on a policy that takes into account social responsibilities and protection of ancestral and traditional knowledge. #beFAIRandCARE
At #cernnasa summit on #openscience, MarΓa Alejandra Tejada from the Colombian Ministry of Science & Technology gives a very interesting talk on the country's policy work, touching on problems to solve, incentives, and social responsibilities.
That is the reproductibily part of #OpenScience, the subject of the day at the #cernnasa summit.
All but forgotten, the heart of the machine : opening processes along with #opensoftware, #opendata and #openaccess for papers and books.
All this with a direct link whith #ResearchAssessment, as show today by @mostlyphysics.

One major takeway from this morning's session of #cernnasa open science summit: initiatives to rethink research evaluation can only be a start. There are so many issues. It seems to me that a global revolution is needed π

On day 4 of the #cernnasa open science summit, we are working towards reproducible, reusable and rewarding science π
stay tuned for updates π
Open hardware had somewhat escaped my attention - too much to open, too little time, I guess ... Anyhow, today's sessions at the #cernnasa open science summit just blew my mind open for hardware π€―
What is going on here, who is working on tools and standards? How will we implement? This is so exciting πποΈποΈπ¬ππ°οΈπ§π¨βοΈ
