Riga now looks like a modern Western city. (You will certainly no longer find old Soviet style beds in any hotels here 😊) And for a day trip for those of you who love history I would recommend visiting #Cesis. It has a medieval castle and used to be the military centre of Livonia in ca. 13-16th century.
