I’m thinking that as a public school district we need to look more seriously at the #Fediverse and possibly start offering these services as a safe place for our staff to start and eventually maybe students as well. I would love to hear anyone’s opinion over here if #K12 school districts should start looking at running their own closed instances of Mastodon, etc. for our constituents. This recent article from #HKU #CETL features our collaboration with the #HKU #University @Libraries. With their support, our course was delivered in #VR so that students could visit ancient sites virtually.
