Wow, Mike, that's great about everything except for the cost. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes and they didn't even tell me. A doctor in a different state, after I moved, saw my records and asked what I was using for my diabetes because she didn't see anything on my chart.

I'm sorry the cost of the CMG is so high.

Sigh. The joys of being . I’ve been on the G7 but moving to the G6 cause my insulin pump doesn’t work with the G7 (and why is that?). My last G7 sensor has failed. The one G6 sensor I have did not come with an applicator. Called my pharmacy and they’re going to refill my G6 script early and be sure to include an applicator but as of right now I’m off the CGM. :(

Following up on my boosts from yesterday: I don't, generally, have a problem with people wanting to actively monitor their health. But the problem with this trend is that people are pulling from a finite supply of continuous glucose monitors (CGM) with luxury and privilege for something they don't NEED, and there are tons of people with diabetes, in the US and around the world, who do not have access to a CGM. EVERYONE WHO USES INSULIN SHOULD HAVE ACCESS TO A CGM. Your blood glucose hitting 120, or even 180, isn't a problem, because you will immediately see it come down. When it shoots past 180, rockets into outer space and just says "HIGH" - then you can have a CGM. Until then, wait your fucking turn. self.com/story/continuous-gluc

I normally have a very good track record with G6 . It's pretty accurate, and I regularly get 10-15 days from each sensor. This one though...has 2 days left and is clearly showing signs of early failure. Since I'm planning to Close my this weekend, I'd really like an accurate sensor on board.

I have been dismayed when I get glucose spikes from low carb foods … when I eat a lot of them all at once. (Doh!) Those single grams of carb per serving add up! (I’m looking at you, almond tortillas.)

I'm trying to rule out compression lows as a cause of my nocturnal hypos. I'm pretty sure they are artefactual, but not due to compression - I think they are due to dysautonomia causing changes in interstitial fluid (more on this in a future post). But I want to know if ppl think this contraption - a big sensor cover, would actually do its stated job of preventing compression lows:
