I was called a traitor & rube by my brother in 2016 (we were secular reform Jews but he later fell in w far-right #Chabad) for supporting Hillary; denouncing #MAGA & #Trump. I pointed out #Nazis at Trump rallies but he refused to see anything beyond their shared hatred of Muslims (a hatred I condemned) & his Newsmax sound bites. He died in 2018 but I wonder if he ever would have seen how destructive his hatred was and how many of his fellow Trumpers would happily have sent him to a death camp.

oks, walking back to my friends place in Bondi, Sydney, passed an older guy with a hat seated on a small ledge, said Shalom! and he called me over, asked, was I Jewish? He needed minyan for Kaddish. I flipped out my Magen David necklace, and said I'm nearly there, and I'll be happy to help when the process is finished. He smiled, said ahhh, that's good. I hope he got his minyan.

I’ve always been a dedicated #Tweetbot user since it existed, from its first day to its last second. Before that, from 2007 to 2011, I’d only used Twitter’s website, the only exception being a brief stint using #Tweetdeck during the 2008 #Mumbai terror attacks to collect/coordinate/distribute hashtag stream information on #Nariman House and #Chabad.

I already miss Tweetbot dearly.

I expected no one at the 2nd night #chabad #Chanukah #Chanukiah lighting in the park last night. It was cold, dark, & a wet snow had started but it was packed!

The #sufganiot were meh & the #latkes were trash but there was a little old guys #klezmer group, a balloon animals guy for little kids, & a lot of happy #Jews having fun schmoozing. My son even danced with me. The crowd ranged from a few weeks old to people in their 90s.

There really seems to be a #Jewish revival happening these days.

I expected zero people at the 2nd night #chabad #menorah lighting in the park last night. It was cold, dark, and a wet snow had started but it was packed!
