Hey - it's bread. One of the prettier ones I've made, but I think I stretched the strands when I was braiding a bit. Regardless, it's a whopping big loaf, and it'll be delicious.

Baking bread in my new oven for the first time today. I have the bread robot making Challah dough, and then we'll see how it goes!

It's always an adventure with a new oven, and this one is bigger, nicer, more consistent, and like... just overall a 100% upgrade over every single oven I've used since I lived with my parents in 2002.

The simplest recipe and shortest prep time was the #challah, which was good enough thankfully. I brought the space heater into the kitchen to keep it warm enough for the dough to rise. Seemed to work out OK.

And Robbie is now asking more about traditions around challah, so this counts for Social Studies as well. #HomeEducation

One day I will make Challah that does not have stretch marks, but today is not that day.

I've just been listening to a really interesting podcast, while preparing for #Shabbat and making my #GlutenFree

While the primary topic was about the possibility of Alexander #Hamilton being born Jewish, the context is that the Foundling Fathers were actively grappling with how to make the USA a more tolerant and inclusive place for those of differing Christian denominations, as well as those of other religions.

Which implies that the current Federalists who are actively trying to Christianize America in order to fulfill the vision of the Founding Fathers have their history seriously askew.
