The Far Side of the Moon is very different from the Near Side. We definitely have not explored the whole moon.

"The farside of the moon is a lunar layer cake. New data from China’s Chang’e-4 lander and Yutu-2 rover reveal alternating layers of coarse rock and fine soil down to a depth of 40 meters, suggesting a history of violent impacts, scientists report February 26 in Science Advances."

"A little more than one year ago, China's Chang'e 4 spacecraft landed on the far side of the Moon. In doing so, it became the first-ever vehicle to make a soft landing on the side of the Moon facing away from Earth.

To mark the one-year anniversary, China released a batch of scientific data and images captured by five scientific payloads aboard the 1.2-ton spacecraft and its small Yutu 2 rover."

ça y est la mission chinoise Chang'e4 à réussi son atterrissage sur la face cachée de la Lune. Espérons que le rover sera opérationnel plus longtemps que pour Chang'e3 . La prouesse technologique c'est aussi d'avoir mis un satellite de télécommunication au point de Lagrange L2 pour retransmettre le tout. La prochaine étape ce sera un retour d'échantillons en 2019 avec Chang'e 5 et 6 avant une mission habitée vers 2025
