My Changeling (PbtA) game is finally picking up narrative momentum!

We're doing short sessions, so at first I was struggling to get any kind of story advancement going. The characters spent 3 sessions getting pestered by goblins that look like gerboas; fun but not especially emotionally resonant

At last, things are rolling -- court intrigue making slow and subtle moves, debts and promises being exchanged, unpleasant memories being stirred

First #ttrpg session in five years and a bit. Went well, it was mostly a session zero with some start out intro plays.
An almost niece (who I GMed while she was really smol) and two of her friends made three dysfunctional changelings and was fresh out from fairyland introduced to the reigning Summer Court.

Went quite well, but now I have to dig into the rules and understand the intricacies of the not uncomplicated modern Storyteller system.

Ran a #Session0 for the new #wod #CofD #queer #ttrpg group we’ve gathered. We discussed safety, our premise, and themes. I think it went pretty great. We’re going to do a prequel of teenage mortals at summer camp, for group cohesion, as people are thinking of playing different supernatural templates, with #changelingthelost as the majority. Then jump to the present day. Hoping as GM I can plant a lot of plot seeds and foreshadowing with this premise!

I’ve been doing this long enough, the story is interactive with #changelingthelost #werewolftheforsaken and #vampiretherequiem all in Portland.

Each chronicle influences the other and I’ve actually ran the others. 1 player has gone through the 3. While he is interested in doing the Mage chronicle and see where the whole metaplot leads him, we both agree it’ll be hard to find the right group.

IIRC 'Changeling: the Lost' had one group of gentry that were basically like 3 grey aliens. But that's about as close as I remember these games doing.

In non-game fiction, Andre Norton kind of mashed up UFOs and the fae in 'Here Abide Monsters'. The plot was not exactly very driven, but I thought it played with some interesting images and ideas.

@GamerMomLuna I'm working on two Chronicles of Darkness supplements.

The first is a small project called Bit Parts, and will provide rules for quickly creating NPCs called Bit Players. It will include 40-50 samples with hints on how to integrate them into your story.

The second is a more ambitious one: A setting book for my fictional city of Buena Vista, Texas for Changeling: The Lost. The coastal town was built up to become a "city of tomorrow," and those dreams of a brighter future influenced the local Hedge to create a hotspot of fae activity. Buena Vista is a liminal place where old and new, technology and magic collide.
