Notice how on #ChangeTheDate there's practically no discussion of returning the stolen land & wealth? Of eliminating the occupation government, its army & police? Of tearing down the occupiers' prison camps? It's almost like that's the point.

Quite similar to how on #MLKday not a single white who posted "honoring his legacy" responded to our not-abstract suggestion to do something useful with their blood money.

It's meaningless milquetoast reformism all the way down.

Did you know that Captain Cook's first act upon approaching the beach at Kurnell in 1770 - before he even landed his boat - was to shoot an Aboriginal man who was courageously defending his land, his house, and his family?
Maybe that gives you a little glimpse into why most of the descendants of the original inhabitants of #Australia don't want to celebrate the day that boatloads of white people showed up with their guns, their Union Jack, and their claim that the land was uninhabited.
