OB Keck darf die erste #Kerze anzünden, bevor der Stuttgarter Rabbiner die Beracha singt und die anderen Lichter entzündet. Über 100 Menschen dabei und am Schluss #sufganiot für alle! Danke an die jüdische Gemeinde Reutlingen und den Rat der Religionen für die Einladung!

On #Channuka, we add one candle each night, following the more hopeful sages of Beit Hillel. Elon's poll yesterday and the direction the poll is taking are hopeful signs! Now he needs to step down and endorse Mastodon! :)

There was the hanukkiah (menorah), There were delicious #sufganiyot and singing and prayers, but there were no presents for the children.
It was beautiful in that the real present is family, love, and tradition. The real present is being surrounded by people who share the same experiences and care about you.

But for me it's a burning fire of rebellion, a rejection of cultural givens, a fierce battle against complacent assimilation of unthinking or even merely popular ways of being, within ourselves & the larger culture. #Hannuka is an alienation celebration, a rebellion in the hinterlands, an I-&-we-are-not-them survival & victory party
