Chaplains are sometimes aware of themes in our days. Today, more than one patient said "remember me". Their stories were so different from each other. Their truth was the power of human faith to overcome suffering. To be seen and heard. The universe remembers. #ChaplainLife

In the hospital often loved ones are placed into situations of impossible decisions - to choose the life or death of their family/friend/partner. Sometimes they will ask the chaplain to make the decision, which is not our role. We support people in understanding their own truth. Which can look like choosing mercy over suffering; accepting the inevitable truth that we all die. #ChaplainLife #LifeAndDeath #Existentialism

This weekend I accompanied a woman who lost her twins at 15 weeks. Seasoned nurses and social workers cried with her. There was nothing to be said or done - no one could fix this.
