From 2007 & our Marie Curie Cancer Care charity trek to Morocco when, on the trek to the summit, we were hit with a snow storm. Conditions became problematic, but many still made it to the top.

From 2004 and our last night under canvas on our charity trek for the National Hospital to Nepal, one of my favourite countries. -10C overnight with a thick layer of ice on the tents, but it soon warmed up.

2004 and my charity trek to Nepal, rubbing shoulders with the Annapurna range of mountains (but not climbing them - Machapuchare or Fish Tail is sacred & can't be climbed). The Nepali people are something special - gentle, tolerant, but let down by a self-serving ruling elite. They deserve better.

From 2002, our charity trek of the Great Wall of China in stifling temperatures. The achievements of the Chinese Empire in building this monument shouldn't be underestimated. It spans over 13,000 miles and was built by the first Emporer. Perhaps we should be learning to live with a resurgent China 🇨🇳 rather than confronting it. We're forcing countries to make a choice between hypocrisy and autocracy. Not much of a choice, is it?
