Eén van de belangrijkste pioniers in het gebruik van de electrische gitaar, en heel belangrijk binnen de #muziek om het instrument solo te gebruiken.
Hij was een sleutelfiguur, in de verspreiding van bebop en #cooljazz, die de verbinding vormt tussen #hotjazz en moderne jazz.
