Ah, the wisdom of Mike Tyson.
Anyway, Charlie Hunter is kind of amazing. The man plays bass and lead guitar on a custom, 7-string axe, and I just don't understand how.
Here he gets togther with three others (drums, trombone, cornet), live, no overdubs, playing some bluesy tunes, with a solid groove. Very enjoyable (as is typical with his releases).

Excellent news on album #reissue front. Remastered 20th anniversary of this stellar #CharlieHunter record from the early aughts halcyon days of Ropeadope records (remember those?!).
This outing has Charlie laying down signature grooves with a quintet featuring sax, trombone, and harmonica. A real high point in his remarkable discography.
Long out of print on CD and conspicuously absent from streaming. Now available online with #vinyl preorders shipping later this year.

So he hung around the extra day and sat in with us. This is a loose jam over #CharlieHunter’s version of #Nirvana’s Come as You Are. His solo starts around 6:00, and the fireworks kick in around 9:00.
