I didn't have much time at day two of #handworks2023 but Roy Underhill's keynote was fun! He's an absolute treasure.

One of his bits was asking #chatpgt this question: "Write a humorous keynote speech for a gathering of hand tool woodworkers from your own perspective".

To start our first week together, #rungpt even has a motivational motto for me to go along with the #trainingplan for this week: "Every journey begins with a single step. Am I the only one who doesnt care about #chatpgt, virtual assistants and alike?

We're still at the artificial part, there is no intelligence.

We're basicallly just having an huge index with an interface that prints a "random" part of it's connections to the user and even makes up things that don't exist.

How is this #AI? How is this smart?

Where did this "The AI has to be self-learning and self-correcting" requirement gone that we had 10, 20 years ago?

Give 20 people access to ChatGPT

To add to the article: today, the European Union is proposing new rules on generative AI and copyright: if you're using copyrighted material to train your AI, you should disclose it.

Interesting but it's not an AI content creator, just a search engine. A nice one it seems but not the same as #BARD or #chatpgt

I already use DuckDuckGo and/pr the Brave search engines with the Brave browser and the Nord VPN along w/various browers extensions to prevent or at least reduce tracking and to preserve privacy, as much as possible, and they work well for me.

Is #chatpgt only there to train us on asking the right questions? 🤔
I really see myself rephrasing my questions more than I would with a human person. But why should a human interpret my actual detailed question into my rough question?
