I think the thing I hate about parties and dinners is wait mode. My entire day is frelled because I'm so terrified I'm going to be late. I can't do anything useful, I can't relax. Maybe I should really only accept invitations to brunches.

(Not that I accept a lot of invitations as it is. This is an outdoor do with 10 people total and lots of space.)

I still don't fully understand how the heart works, and I had heart surgery in 2021. I still can't get my head around the chambers and what is pumping what to where and getting reoxygenated and then coming back into some point before heading out the aorta. I understand the aortic arch fine, and that's where I got my stent put in. But the heart itself? I really need to sit down and study a diagram closely.

5 months ago today I was all alone in a bay for 6 on Ward 30 at the Freeman waiting for open heart surgery to fix a congenital heart defect. This is my Valentine to all the lovely people who saved my life from the hospital staff to the family of my valve donor. Thank you ❤️
