Am gonna buy my first desktop computer since 1990. What do you think of this one? Is there anything for the $$ that beats it? This will be the second machine in the house to run a GPU for AI... we're gonna try and lowball the AI gen env by using an Instinct Mi25 card. I just ordered Windows-11-Pro for $33 + have a month to install it.

I've just seen people horrified at the prices of Heinz products. I've never been (or should that be "bean") very loyal to any particular brand. Especially the "big brands" that you pay way more for.

For me there are budget brands that you only get when things are tight, normal brands that you mostly get, and over priced ones.

Quality only goes so far and after that you are paying their marketing budget and shareholders.

I find this for clothes, food, everything…

@kc2ihx Mostly I’m trying to exercise my natural-born rights to be a #cheapskate, er, um, #frugal, yeah, that’s it, frugal! And program a bunch of memories without buying any sort of special cable or commercial software. I’m sure #chirp is wonderful when it works, but it doesn’t work for me yet.

End of an era

I definitely got my money’s worth out of my old #KindleKeyboard (purchased July 2010). Knew it was a goner several years ago when I tried to trade it in for a $10 credit on a new #Kindle and #Amazon sent it back to me with a “no thanks” note lol

Today the battery gave up the ghost and it’s sadly not worth the cost of a replacement battery (the current models are infinitely better)
