Any guesses how old this bottle of "Maison Blanc California Champagne" might be? There's no year on the label, but it has an old fashioned look, and there's no bar code, so I'd guess it's no later than the early 80s.
We opened it out of curiosity, and it was... not good. It probably wouldn't have been good even when it was new. It was a bulk fermented Central Valley wine priced at 3 for $5. After sitting around for N decades it had no trace of fizz and smelled like sherry. None of us wanted a second sip. Curiosity satisfied!
