Vanilla is native to the carribean.
Traditional vanilla sauce uses a recipe by some dead french master chef from colonial times. The recipe uses egg yolk to thicken the sauce. Using uncooked eggs for anything in food wouldn't be feasible in the carribean (at least without modern refrigeration). #colonialism #chefmode #culinary #food #
