I Chelsea chopped two plants this year: this veronica and the upright variegated phlox behind it in this picture. The phlox is already a later-blooming perennial, so I don’t know yet the exact outcome for it. But the veronica is at least double if not more the number of initial blooms from that chop and I’m not actually seeing it that far behind schedule, especially considering our very cool early spring this year.

Will Chelsea chop again!
