White Phosphorus

Irrigate wounds with cold water, then cover with saline-soaked gauze pads.

Copper sulfate aids in identifying phosphorus. However, CuSO4 has been reported to have adverse effects including vomiting, diarrhea, hepatic necrosis, tachycardia and hypotension. Copper toxicity can occur within 15H of using 2% CuSO4 solution.

A safer option is 1–3% solution of silver nitrate.
