Hi I’m Rakia (pronounced rock-yah) and I’m a fourth-year #chemistry PhD candidate in the Patterson Lab at UC Irvine.

I work on understanding how proteins influence the #crystallization pathways of #Metal-OrganicFrameworks using transmission electron microscopy #TEM and in-situ spectroscopy techniques.

Another ink drawing, this one is the alkanes and simple related alcohols, esters, etc. I tried to get a little artsy with the sigma and pi-bonded electron distributions and with lone pairs. 16x20 inches on a polymer composited paperboard. Original available and if anyone asks about prints I'll post a link.

I had no idea that bioplastics weren't all they're made out to be (they don't decompose as soon as they find a compost bin...who knew?!).
