There’s probably a designated day for posting pictures of trig points, but I’m not sure what it is. Anyway, here’s the trig point on top of Shillhope Law, looking splendid in the April sunshine today. I’ve been up there many times before, but never made the small detour to the trig point, which was remiss of me.

Not great light for photography today, but I had a thoroughly enjoyable walk in the Cheviots around Shillmoor. Skylarks were singing their hearts out over the tops, and I saw dippers on the burn. Also, sheep.

Jack Scott has opened a gap over Damian Hall, but has a 40 minute time penalty. Can he create a large enough gap with only 3 miles left? My guess is he is about a mile ahead. Not often do two markers on a map become compelling viewing - well not all the time, but looking every few minutes.

Here’s a recent picture of a distant #Yetholm that I took from atop Green Humbleton; an #IronAge #Hillfort with a double wall that sits in the #Halterburn valley. The #PennineWay passes the base of this small hill.
You can see the outer wall of the #fort in the foreground of this picture.
The hill opposite is #Staerough, which looms over Yetholm.
