Today in Labor History February 28, 1947: The Kuomintang government in Taiwan put down an anti-government uprising known as the February 28 Incident. They killed 28,000 civilians. And in the White Terror that followed, the government killed, imprisoned or disappeared 30,000 more. These events helped spark the Taiwanese independence movement.

That is pretty rich from a party that is still revering murderous war lord #ChiangKaishek and that is being presided by a certain Johnny #Chiang - yes, direct family of the Generalissimo.

Seriously, the KMT should keep its gob firmly shut regarding a #cultofpersonality.

Question to all people into #Taiwan and its #politics: Why exactly is #JohnnyChiang, grandchild of murderous dictator and kleptocrat CKS considered a hopeful to reform the #KMT? He's a member of the criminal #Chiang clan, he still sees the #KMT as a Chinese party - so he misses out on 85% of the Taiwanese. As long as the KMT sides with the #CCP and not with #democracy, #civicrights and #freedoms, it has no place in power in Taiwan imho.
