One of my favourites this time of year is from an album by The called Bells of Dublin. This was sung at a show I was at last night & this verse hit me afresh:

“Once a year when Christmas comes
We give to our relations
And perhaps we give a little to the poor
If the generosity should seize us

In the business of why there are poor
