I could have never imagined that bamboo dolls would be so fascinating and life-like.

The Karuta opponents (either when individuals or teams) are referred to as the Genji and the Heike! I took the liberty to adapt this picture (original here: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Kano_school,_detail_of_Screen_with_Scenes_from_the_Tales_of_Heike,_Clark_Center_for_Japanese_Art.jpg) accordingly, so as to highlight this ^_^

I've been writing a number of posts about Karuta for the Demone Celeste Forum (https://demoneceleste.forumfree.it/), and the second of them shall feature this picture!

Season 2, Episode 20 of #Chihayafuru: Taichi realizes he mchecking hates Arata, mumbles "You're my enemy" and then lies about it, then gets so angry he falls asleep.

Before his anger nap he probably spent a few minutes typing the F word into a Tumblr textpost 15 htousand times before deleting the draft.

The pacing in the #Chihayafuru anime adaptation is so good, a match rarely lasts more than 2 episodes.

So many sports animes could benefit from that. ;v;

Me before watching #Chihayafuru season 2 ep11: Everyone has great, interesting dynamics with Komano, except maybe Nishida?

Me after s2ep11: Actually Komano/Nishida is the best dynamic, top tier friendship, 10/10 OTP.
