momleft.substack.com/p/at-what is a huge driver and this will completely fuck the in the . The Biden administration fucking over working families by ending COVID relief programs is going to hand Republicans 2024 because they will stonewall any effort to bring it back then say "bidenomics doesn't work" and people were better off under trump. Because Biden wanted to "tackle inflation" he’s committed himself and the Fed to the contractionary monetary policy that raises interest rates such that the finance overlords pull out their investments and VC money stops keeping things afloat and workers get laid off, also the Fed chair explicitly stated that the idea was to discipline workers. The treasury doesn’t do this against the wishes of the executive branch, if they wanted to they could reverse it. Many economists have told them that more stimulus is actually the real way to beat inflation but that’s not good for capitalists who want to squeeze workers. So as much lip service as Biden will give to how republicans are ruining his plan to build back better or whatever, his fiscal policies speak for themselves.

This is why the average white male voter (who are the only voting demographic not currently being disenfranchised under this system) will be convinced that he was better off under trump, and that has bad consequences.

“It isn’t just individual children or parents that will be impacted, it’s the economy as a whole,” said Julie Kashen, a senior fellow at the Century Foundation. “When more than 3 million children lose care, that means all of those parents are going to have to figure out something else or reduce their work hours or leave their jobs altogether.”

Last day of the
So many impressions I could not share. Time is so intense this year especially because I spent so much time also in the room. I knew it will be an experience to attend with a LO, and I'm so thankful to the organizers who made it possible by engaging such a nice nanny and to my sister who accompanied me as babysitter backup. I'm also proud of myself to have managed it - sometimes exhausted, maybe absent, or vanishing quickly after the panels.

These are not just city employees. This is everywhere where big companies are making more profits than actually taking care of their people.”

An estimated 70,000 child-care programs could close as a result of lost funding, causing 3.2 million children to lose care, according to a study by the Century Foundation, a liberal think tank. That translates to $10.6 billion in lost U.S. economic activity, researchers found, adding new strain to a nation already struggling with a profound lack of child care. wapo.st/3sIIWpl

Concerning, Biden knows: GOP MOC won't fund , so: The admin declined to seek fresh child care$ as part of a supplemental funding request earlier this month, passing up -seen as the only chance to make the case for fresh aid. Dem lawmakers leading push -little chance now -divided Congress will add child care funding to spending negotiations with a govt shutdown looming. Dem est.: funding expiration could boot as many as 3M children from their programs🚨. politico.com/news/2023/08/31/b

In addition to the obstruction by the Caucus, Republicans may not want to fund childcare: Freedom Caucus mems are threatening to refuse to support the ST funding measure unless McCarthy meets their demands *Dems oppose. Rs have only a 5-seat maj. -little time to pass the ST funding bill & send it to the Sen. Concern: end of childcare funding provided under the US Rescue Plan -advocacy groups warn w/o it, for millions of children/families would disappear. springboardpost.com/2023/09/01

"This is parenting in 2023. This is in the age of disasters. The tragedy in Maui raises a further question for not only our local, state, and government officials, but for all of us: With parents clearly unable to shield their children from the ever-expanding list of climate threats on their own, how can we rebuild our systems to promote young children’s safety, health and well-being?"

MOC & state politicians are to blame: Funding: to expire Sept 30. >70K programs are expected to close entirely. In AR/MT/UT/VA/WV/DC, licensed programs could be cut by half or more. State pols are fighting over whether to plug the hole left by the end of fed assistance. Child advocates have urged Congress to simply renew some version of those fed stabilization grants. HSE Rs don't want to renew -even with a potential collapse of the labor market🚨. washingtonpost.com/opinions/20
