Thought for the day... development of taste in humans?????

While out 🏃 this morning (📷): my children are yet to entertain particularly tasty food, curry for example, not spicy but a constelation of flavours nonetheless. Is the maturation of a humans palate for flavours determined by experience and exposure to new foods or to do with ongoing development of their tastebuds... or something else entirely???
