Random #childhoodmemory from when I was 10 or 11. Semi-rural suburb in NE #Pennsylvania, just outside of #Allentown. Playing football in our back yard with a bunch of kids from the neighborhood.

There’s some shaking in a large maple tree. One of the kids says, “it’s a monkey!” We all laughed and said that was silly, it was just a squirrel. But he insisted he had seen a monkey.

A little later in the game, more rustling in the maple. This time we ALL saw it. It absolutely was a small monkey!

Hearing about the Gold Cup this week has brought back a #ChildhoodMemory of the 10p races in the Muzzies.

A Christmas Story 🎅
I was about 5 years old and very excited to be seeing Santa in person for the 1st time at a store in our small town.

Santa asked what I wanted for Christmas, but I was too distracted by his watch and ring, which were surprisingly identical to my dad’s. 🤔
