Environment China has a new podcast out today with Erlend Ek of China Policy, who speaks with us about SOEs and the Chinese low-carbon energy transition.
Erlend is optimistic on SOEs being able to lead the energy transition; he sees the central govt moving away from "project economy" (KPI is projects completed) to performance evaluation based on contribution to low-carbon, tax revenue, innovation.

Wind and solar combined share grew to over 14%, by my calculations. (Will have to adjust when NEA releases more info later.)
That's up from around 12% in 2021, so this share is rising around 2 percentage points annually.
Unfortunately, it was the worst hydro year since 1961, so the overall non-fossil share didn't do very well.

Wind and solar combined capacity grew 120 GW, almost as much as the prior 2020 record of 121 GW. CEC expects 165 GW combined wind and solar additions in 2023.

Nowa mega elektrownia szczytowow-pompowa
ChRL, jak wiele innych państw rozwijających odnawialne źródła energii, ma problem z magazynowaniem energii w okresach szczytu produkcji, której brakuje, kiedy z powodu pogody maleje produkcja OZE.
