Happy Birthday, #KarlMarx! Eine meiner Lieblingsstellen — nur in ungekürzten Ausgaben — aus »Das Kapital«. Diese Beobachtung, dass zwischen zwei gleicherweise plausibel hergeleiteten Rechten letztendlich in irgendeiner Form Gewalt entscheidet hat sich #ChinaMiéville für seine Studie zur Geschichte des Völkerrechts »Between Equal Rights« entliehen. Passend endet Miéville mit dem Hammersatz: »Die chaotische und blutige Welt um uns IST DIE HERRSCHAFT DES RECHTS.«

#nowreading Just finished “The Last Days of New Paris” by #ChinaMiéville. When surrealism becomes reality. Despite the appendix, you need to know most important surrealist art to fully appreciate this brilliant novella.

I cannot be the only person struck by the parallels between #CarnivalRow and #ChinaMieville s New Crobuzon books

Latest read, Foundation (2003) by China Mieville, from Looking for Jake. A man with the ability to read feel, sense, hear the structural weakness in buildings, in the city itself, is going mad from the experience.
Mieville experiments with repetition and stream of consciousness, but has a purpose.
