sitting in a sunny garden with the birds singing away and watching a hefty queen bending the flowers down under her weight.

I'm reminded of this paper that describes the physics of in flight. (TL;DR they move their wings at about 230Hz in broadly horizontal figures of 8 rather than flapping up and down)

Fascinating application of theory.
