Germany is ‘expected’ to ban a Chinese takeover of a chipmaker.

Silex, a Swedish subsidiary of China's Sai Microelectronics, was reported to take over Elmos' Dortmund plant for €85 million. The controversial deal was to be greenlit by the German government despite warnings from its own intelligence agencies.

But in a statement, the company said that "the sale [..] is expected to be prohibited at the upcoming cabinet meeting."

Nvidia yesterday launched an investigation into a hacker group that #stole over 1TB of the #chipmaker's data. Underground group, #Vx_underground, has shared on its #Twitter account that Nvidia has reportedly #retaliated by sneaking back into the hacker's system and #encrypting the #stolen_data.
